And indeed Nooh prayed to Us – so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 And We saved him and his household from the great distress, 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?” 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 “So what do you assume regarding the Lord Of The Creation?” (That He will not punish you?) 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac - a prophet,- one of the Righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
