Hizb 53
< random >
Has the story reached thee, of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they came to him, they said: "Peace." He answered: "Peace." They were a people he did not recognise. 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 He then presented it before them and said, “Do you not eat?” 27 Then he became afraid of them. They said: “Fear not,” and announced to him the good news of (the birth of) a boy endowed with knowledge. 28 Then his wife drew near vociferating, and smote her face, and said: an old barren woman! 29 "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." 30 ۞ [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?" 31 They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk, 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 Sent forth from your Lord for the extravagant. 34 So We brought out from therein the believers. 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 We left a sign in this for those who fear the grievous punishment, 37 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 And in the tribe of A’ad, when we sent a dry windstorm upon them. 41 It spared nothing that it reached, but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins. 42 In the Thamud [there was another sign], when they were told, "Make the most of your lives for a while." 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
