The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O YOU ENFOLDED in your mantle (of reform), 1 arise, and warn! 2 And your Lord do magnify, 3 and purify your robes, 4 and shun uncleanness, 5 And do not favour others in order to receive more. 6 But for your Lord be patient. 7 When the Trumpet is sounded, 8 It will be a day of distress, 9 not an easy day for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)! 11 And give him vast riches, 12 And sons to be by his side!- 13 And made several preparations for him. 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 By no means! He has been stubbornly hostile to Our revelation: 16 I will constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 For lo! he did consider; then he planned - 18 So let him be cursed! How he plotted! 19 And again perish he! How maliciously he devised! 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 Then he frowned and scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 He said, 'This is naught but a trumped-up sorcery; 24 These are only words from a mere mortal". 25 Him shall I fling unto the burning. 26 And what knoweth thou that which the Scorching Fire? 27 It leaveth naught; it spareth naught 28 It glows and burns the skin. 29 Over it are nineteen keepers. 30 We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, that those who were given the Book may have certainty, and that those who believe may increase in belief, and that those who were given the Book and those who believe may not be in-doubt, and that those in whose hearts there is sickness, and the unbelievers, may say, 'What did God intend by this as a similitude?' So God leads astray whomsoever He will, and He guides whomsoever He will; and none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but a Reminder to mortals. 31
