The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 where then are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
