Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 for an appointed time? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 The living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
