The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas rise, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
