Jinns (Al-Jinn)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. 1 Which guides to the right path; and we have come to believe in it, and will not associate any one with our Lord. 2 And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, 3 The ignorant fool among us has spoken outrageously against Allah, 4 ‘Whereas we thought that men and jinns would never fabricate a lie against Allah!’ 5 And persons among humankind have been seeking refuge with persons of the jinn, so that they increased them in evil disposition. 6 And indeed they supposed, even as ye suppose, that Allah would not raise anyone (from the dead) - 7 (The jinn continued saying): "We made our way towards heaven, but we found it filled with stern guards and a flame. 8 And we used to sit on places (high) therein to listen. But he who listeneth now findeth a flame in wait for him; 9 'And we know not whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends for them a Right Path. 10 As for us, some of us are righteous and others are not. We have all followed different ways. 11 And we know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed therein, and whoso believeth in his Lord, he feareth neither loss nor oppression. 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 'But those who swerve,- they are (but) fuel for Hell-fire'- 15 Would they but go straight on the way, We would give them to drink of water copious, 16 ‘In order to test them with it; and whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord – He will put him in a punishment that keeps on increasing.’ 17 The mosques are for God's worship -- so do not invoke anyone else along with God -- 18 ‘And that when Allah’s bondman stood up to worship Him, the jinns had almost crowded upon him.’” 19
