(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 25 and make my task easy for me. 26 "And remove the impediment from my speech, 27 so that they may understand my speech; 28 Appoint for me of my folk a familiar, 29 Haroun, my brother, 30 Increase through him my strength 31 and let him share my task, 32 That we may hallow Thee oft. 33 "And remember Thee without stint: 34 Lo! Thou art ever Seeing us. 35 He replied: 'Moses, your request is granted. 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on you another time (before). 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 "'Put him into a chest, then cast it into the river. The river will cast it on to the bank, and there he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and his.' I showered My love on you so that you might be reared under My watchful eye. 39 Your sister went (to them) and said: 'Shall I guide you to one who will nurse him' And so We restored you to your mother, so that her eyes might rejoice and that she might not sorrow. And when you killed a soul We saved you from grief and then We tried you with many trials. You stayed among the people of Midian for a number of years, and then, Moses, you came here according to a decree. 40 I have chosen thee for My service; 41 "Go forth, [then,] thou and thy brother, with My messages, and never tire of remembering Me: 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has waxed insolent; 43 “And speak to him courteously, that perhaps he may ponder or have some fear.” 44 They both said, "Our Lord, We fear that he may commit some excess against us, or exceed all bounds in transgression." 45 He said: "Have no fear. I am with you, hearing and seeing all. 46 So go to him, and say: verily we are two apostles of thy Lord, so let go with us the Children of Isra'il, and torment them not; surely we have come unto thee with a sign from thy Lord: and peace be upon him who followeth the guidance. 47 'Truly, it has been revealed to us that the torment will be for him who denies [believes not in the Oneness of Allah, and in His Messengers, etc.], and turns away.'(from the truth and obedience of Allah)" 48 Pharaoh said:" Moses! Who is the Lord of the two of you?" 49 [Musa (Moses)] said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each thing its form and nature, then guided it aright." 50 [Pharaoh] said, "Then what is the case of the former generations?" 51 Musa said: the knowledge thereof is with my Lord in the Book; my Lord erreth not, nor He forgetteth. 52 Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation, 53 To eat and feed your cattle. Surely there are signs in these for those who are wise. 54
