Hath there come unto thee the story of Ibrahim's honoured guests? 24 When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," 25 Then he went to his home – so he brought a healthy calf. 26 And he set it before them, and said: wherefore eat ye not? 27 He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. 28 Then his wife came forward with a loud voice, she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals 32 to loose upon them stones of clay 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 Thus We brought forth from therein who were believers. 35 for apart from one [single] house We did not find there any who had surrendered themselves to Us. 36 and We left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment. 37 And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 Then We seized him and his army and cast them all into the sea: he himself [Pharaoh] was to blame. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 which turned everything it approached into dust. 42 And also in Thamood, when it was said to them, 'Take your enjoyment for a while!' 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 And neither stand up nor defend themselves. 45 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. 46
