Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
