The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 BUT NAY! I call to witness the sunset's [fleeting] afterglow, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
