Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 We shall facilitate the path to affliction 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
