The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, surely man transgresses; 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
