The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 And [by] the promised Day 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 The companions of the pit were killed 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 They sat by it 6 And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses. 7 They had nothing against them, except that they believed in Allah, the All-Mighty, Worthy of all Praise! 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 Surely for those who believe and do the right are gardens with rivers running by. That is the greatest success. 11 Verily the grip of thine Lord is severe. 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 Of Pharaoh and Thamud come to you? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 but all the while God encompasses them [with His knowledge and might] without their being aware of it. 20 Indeed, this is a Glorious Koran, 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
