Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By (the horses) that charge snorting, 1 Striking sparks of fire (by their hooves), 2 rushing to assault at morn, 3 and leave behind a cloud of dust 4 Cleaving, as one, the centre (of the foe), 5 That man is ungrateful to his Lord 6 And verily to that he is witness. 7 And verily, he is violent in the love of wealth. 8 ۞ So does he not know? When those in the graves are raised, 9 And the hearts' contents shall be brought into the open? 10 that on that Day their Sustainer [will show that He] has always been fully aware of them? 11
