۞ And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud. 57 "Are our gods any better than Jesus (for according to Muhammad), if our gods go to hell so too will Jesus. What they say is only a false argument. In fact, they are a quarrelsome people. 58 He ['Iesa (Jesus)] was not more than a slave. We granted Our Favour to him, and We made him an example to the Children of Israel (i.e. his creation without a father). 59 And if We willed, We could have established angels on the earth instead of you. 60 It is the knowledge of the Hour. Have no doubt concerning it, and follow me. This is a Straight Path, 61 And let not the Shaitan prevent you; surely he is your open enemy. 62 And when Eisa came to them with clear signs, he said, “I have come to you with wisdom, and to explain to you some of the matters regarding which you dispute; therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 63 Lo! Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him. This is a right path. 64 The various factions among them differed -- woe then to those who did wrong: they will suffer the punishment of a painful Day. 65 They await but the Hour: that it should come upon them of a sudden, while they perceive not. 66 Friends on that day will be foes, one to another,- except the Righteous. 67
