And recite to them the news of Abraham, 69 [how it was] when he asked his father and his people, "What is it that you worship?" 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you call?" 72 Or do they benefit you, or do you harm?" 73 They answered: "No; but we found our forefathers doing so." 74 Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, 75 "You and your forefathers preceding you." 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me. 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 "My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity." 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 Do not betray me 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 And it will be said unto them: Where is (all) that ye used to worship 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers 94 and the hosts of Iblis - all together. 95 They shall say while they contend therein: 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 In equating you with the Lord of all the worlds; 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 and we have no intercessors now, 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 Would that we might return again, and be among the believers' 102 Verily there is a sign in this, but many of them do not believe. 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
