Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
We sent Noah to his nation, saying: 'Give warning to your nation before a painful punishment overtakes them' 1 He said: "O my people, I warn you clearly 2 Worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me. 3 He will forgive your sins and will grant you respite till an appointed time. When the time appointed by God arrives, it cannot be postponed, if you only knew." 4 He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day 5 But my invitation increased them not except in flight. 6 And every time I called them that You may forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their garments, and became wayward, and behaved with downright insolence. 7 Then indeed I called them openly; 8 Then I conveyed the message to them, again, both in public and in private, 9 and I said: "'Ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins - for, verily, He is all-forgiving! 10 He will send the heaven upon you copiously; 11 rain from the sky, 12 What is the matter with you that you fear not the greatness of Allah? 13 And indeed He has created you through various grades: 14 "'Do you not see how God has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another, 15 ‘And in them, has illuminated the moon, and made the sun a lamp?’ 16 "'And God has caused you to grow out of the earth in [gradual] growth; and thereafter He will return you to it [in death]: 17 "'And in the End He will return you into the (earth), and raise you forth (again at the Resurrection)? 18 Allah has made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 so that you may tread its spacious paths.” 20
