The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ There hath approached unto mankind their reckoning, while they in neglect are turning away. 1 Whenever a new advice comes to them from their Lord, they do not listen to it except while playing. 2 their hearts are distracted and forgetful. The wrongdoers confer together secretly, saying, "Is not this man a mortal like you? Will you succumb to magic with your eyes open?" 3 Say: "My Sustainer knows whatever is spoken in heaven and on earth; and He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing." 4 They say: "Nay, these are confused dreams; nay, he has forged it; nay, he is a poet. So let him bring us a sign, even as the Messengers of the past were sent with signs." 5 There is not a township before them which did not believe which We have not destroyed; so will they believe? 6 And We did not send before you any but men to whom We sent revelation, so ask the followers of the reminder if you do not 7 And We did not make the prophets forms not eating food, nor were they immortal [on earth]. 8 Our promise to them came true and We saved them and those whom We wanted, but destroyed the unjust people. 9 And assuredly We have sent down unto you a Book wherein is admonition for you; will ye not then reflect? 10
