O Ye apostles! eat the good things and work righteously; verily of that which ye work I am the Knower. 51 Verily this your order is one order, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 But people have cut off their affair (of unity), between them, into sects: each party rejoices in that which is with itself. 53 So leave them immersed in their heedlessness till an appointed time. 54 Do they think that in giving them wealth and children 55 have no other purpose except to help them in acquiring material benefits? No indeed. But they do not understand. 56 Surely those who live in awe of their Lord, 57 And those who believe in the revelations of their Lord, 58 And those who do not ascribe any partner to their Lord – 59 And those who dispense their charity with their hearts full of fear, because they will return to their Lord;- 60 These hasten to good things and they are foremost in (attaining) them. 61 And we task not any soul beyond its scope, and with Us is a Record which speaketh the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 Aye! their hearts are in bewilderment in respect thereof, and they have works beside that, of which they are workers. 63 Until, when We seize in Punishment those of them who received the good things of this world, behold, they will groan in supplication! 64 Supplicate not this day! Assuredly ye will not be helped by Us. 65 My Signs were rehearsed to you and you turned back on your heels and took to flight, 66 [and,] impelled by your arrogance, you would talk senselessly far into the night." 67 Then have they not reflected over the Qur'an, or has there come to them that which had not come to their forefathers? 68 Or is it that they did not recognise their Noble Messenger, therefore they consider him alien? 69 Or, say they: in him is madness? O Aye he brought them the truth, and most of them to the truth are averse. 70 If truth had followed their whims and desires, heavens and earth and all that lives in them would have been brought to ruin. Rather We have brought them their Reminder. Yet they keep avoiding their Reminder. 71 Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers. 72 And lo! thou summonest them indeed unto a straight path. 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are deviating from that Way. 74 ۞ Even if We were to grant them mercy and rescue them from hardship, they would still blindly persist in their rebellion. 75 And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves. 76 until, when We open against them a door of terrible chastisement, lo, they are sore confounded at it. 77
