S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Sad [These letters (Sad etc.) are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. By the Quran full of reminding. 1 No, the unbelievers exalt in their division. 2 How many a generation We destroyed before them, and they called, but time was none to escape. 3 They are surprised that a warner should come to them from among themselves. They say, "This is a magician, a great liar. 4 What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a wondrous thing' 5 And their leading chiefs said: "Remain attached to your gods. There is surely some motive behind it. 6 We never heard of it in the former faith. It is surely a fabrication. 7 Hath unto him the admonition been sent down from amongst us! Yea! they are in doubt concerning My admonition. Yea! they have not yet tasted My torment. 8 Or are theirs the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Mighty, the Bestower? 9 Do they own the heavens and the earth and all that is between them? Let them try on their own to block (the ways of heavens so that Our revelations cannot come to you). 10 this host too, among other hosts, is bound to suffer defeat. 11 Even before them the people of Noah, 'Ad, the mighty Pharoah, 12 and the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lot, and the dwellers of the Wood -- these were the confederates. 13 Not one (of them) but rejected the messengers, but My punishment came justly and inevitably (on them). 14
