Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Ha. Mim. 1 This is a revelation from the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, 2 A Book whose verses have been detailed, an Arabic Qur'an for a people who know, 3 A herald of good news and a warner, but most of them turn aside so they hear not. 4 They say: “Our hearts are securely wrapped up against what you call us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between you and us there is a veil. So act; we too are acting.” 5 Say: 'I am only a mortal, like you are. To me it has been revealed that your God is One God; so go straight with Him, and ask for His forgiveness; and woe to the idolaters 6 Those who do not give the obligatory charity, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 Lo! as for those who believe and do good works, for them is a reward enduring. 8
