Seest thou one who turns back, 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 and that with thy Sustainer is the beginning and the end [of all that exists]; 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
