The tribe of Thamud also rejected Our warnings: 23 For they said: "A man! Alone from among us, that we are to follow? Truly, then we should be in error and distress or madness!" 24 Has the reminder been made to light upon him from among us? Nay! he is an insolent liar! 25 [And God said:] "On the morrow they will come to know who the boastful liar is! 26 We are sending to them as a trial, a shecamel, so watch them and have patience. 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn]. 28 But they called their commander, who seized and hamstrung her. 29 How was then My punishment of which they had been warned? 30 We sent upon them a single blast of sound and they were left like hay to be used by the cattle. 31 Easy have We made the Qur'an to understand: So is there any one who will be warned? 32 The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 33 Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn 34 As a favour from Us. Thus We recompense him who giveth thanks. 35 And assuredly he had warned them of Our grasp, but: they doubted the warnings. 36 They demanded that he turn over his guests to them. We struck their faces, blinded them and said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 37 And there came upon them by morning an abiding punishment. 38 'Now, taste My punishment and My warnings' 39 Hence, indeed, We made this Qur'an easy to bear in mind: who, then, is willing to take it to heart? 40

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
