Al-Naba' 2 of 2
Surely for those who guard (against evil) is achievement, 31 Gardens enclosed and vineyards, 32 And full-breasted [companions] of equal age 33 And a full cup. 34 No ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood - 35 A recompense from your Lord, a sufficient gift, 36 Lord of the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, the All-merciful of whom they have no power to speak. 37 The Day when the Spirit and the angels are ranged row on row. None shall speak save he whom the Merciful Lord will permit; and he too will speak what is right. 38 That is the True Day; therefore whoever wills may take the path towards his Lord. 39 We have warned you of the approaching torment. On that day, a person will see what his hands have committed. A disbeliever will say, "Would that I had been dust". 40

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
