Never have We sent a Prophet to a place without trying its people with adversity and hardship that they may humble themselves. 94 Then We changed evil for good, until they multiplied and said: 'Our fathers were indeed touched by misfortune and adversity' So We seized them suddenly while they were unaware. 95 But if the people of these regions had believed and feared God, We would surely have showered on them blessings of the heavens and the earth; but they only denied, and We punished them for their deeds. 96 Did the people of the towns then feel secure against the coming of Our Punishment by night while they are asleep? 97 Or do the people of the dwellings not fear that Our wrath may come upon them during the day, while they are playing? 98 Can they remain secure against the plan of God? Only they feel secure against the plan of God who are certain of being ruined. 99
