O apostles! eat of the good things and do good; surely I know what you do. 51 And verily! This your religion (of Islamic Monotheism) is one religion, and I am your Lord, so keep your duty to Me. 52 But they (mankind) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its tenets. 53 So leave them in their error till a time. 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 We hasten in good works for them? No, they are not aware. 56 Only those who are, out of fear of Him, humble before their Lord, 57 and believe in His messages 58 and do not ascribe partners to Him; 59 Who give whatsoever they give (in His way), and their hearts tremble with fear that they have to go back to their Lord, 60 those vie in good works, outracing to them. 61 We do not burden a soul beyond capacity, for We have a record that tells the truth. No wrong will be done to any one. 62 NAY, [as for those who have torn asunder the unity of faith] - their hearts are lost in ignorance of all this! But apart from that [breach of unity] they have [on their conscience even worse] deeds; and they will [continue to] commit them 63 So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help. 64 Do not cry out today. Indeed, by Us you will not be helped. 65 Surely My signs have been rehearsed unto you, and upon your heel ye were wont to draw back. 66 being proud against it, talking foolishness by night. 67 Have they not pondered the Word, or hath that come unto them which came not unto their fathers of old? 68 Or did they not know their Messenger, so they are toward him disacknowledging? 69 Or do they say: There is madness in him? Nay! he has brought them the truth, and most of them are averse from the truth. 70 And had the Truth followed their desires, then indeed the heavens and the earth and all those who are in them would be destroyed; in fact We brought to them a thing in which lay their repute, so they are turned away from their own repute. 71 Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers. 72 Assuredly thou art calling them to a straight path; 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are deviating from that Way. 74 ۞ Even if We showed them mercy and relieved them of their afflictions, they would still persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 We struck them with torment, but they did not submit themselves to their Lord, nor did they make themselves humble 76 Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein! 77
