He said: O my Lord! Expand my breast for me, 25 Make my task easy 26 "And remove the impediment from my speech, 27 That they may understand my saying. 28 and appoint for me a helper from among my family, 29 Haroun, my brother, 30 "Add to my strength through him, 31 "And let him share my task (of conveying Allah's Message and Prophethood), 32 so that [together] we might abundantly extol Thy limitless glory 33 And remember Thee oft. 34 "Verily! You are of us Ever a Well-Seer." 35 Said He: "Thou art granted all that thou hast asked for, O Moses! 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 When we inspired in thy mother that which is inspired, 38 Saying: Throw him into the ark, and throw it into the river, then the river shall throw it on to the bank, and there an enemy to Me and an enemy to him shall take him. And I endued thee with love from Me that thou mightest be trained according to My will, 39 "When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Musa (Moses)! 40 I have chosen you for Myself. 41 go therefore, thou and thy brother; with My signs, and neglect not to remember Me. 42 Go both of you to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel. 43 But speak unto him in a mild manner, so that he might bethink himself or [at least] be filled with apprehension. 44 'O our Lord,' said Moses and Aaron, 'truly we fear he may exceed against us, or wax insolent.' 45 He said: Fear not. Lo! I am with you twain, Hearing and Seeing. 46 So go to him, and say: verily we are two apostles of thy Lord, so let go with us the Children of Isra'il, and torment them not; surely we have come unto thee with a sign from thy Lord: and peace be upon him who followeth the guidance. 47 Surely it has been revealed to us that the chastisement will surely come upon him who rejects and turns back. 48 The Pharaoh asked them, "Who is your Lord?" 49 'Our Lord' he replied, 'is He Who gave everything its creation and then guided it' 50 Pharaoh said, 'And what of the former generations?' 51 Said Moses, 'The knowledge of them is with my Lord, in a Book; my Lord goes not astray, nor forgets -- 52 It is He who has laid out the earth for you and traced routes in it and sent down water from the sky. We have brought forth every sort of plant with it, 53 So eat yourself and pasture your cattle. Surely there are many Signs in this for people of understanding. 54
