Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
HA MIM. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful, 2 The verses of this Book have been fully expounded. It is a reading in the Arabic language for the people of knowledge. 3 good tidings to bear, and warning, but most of them have turned away, and do not give ear. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working." 5 Say (Prophet Muhammad): 'I am only a human like you, to whom it is revealed that your God is One God. Therefore be straight with Him and ask Him to forgive you. Woe to the idolaters, 6 who do not pay charity and disbelieve in the Everlasting Life. 7 As to those who have faith and do good works, surely theirs shall be a never-ending reward. 8
