Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, 1 Which guides to the right path; and we have come to believe in it, and will not associate any one with our Lord. 2 'And Exalted is the Majesty of our Lord: He has taken neither a wife nor a son. 3 and that “the foolish among us have been wont to say outrageous things about Allah”; 4 and we had thought that men and jinn would never speak against God a lie. 5 But some men used to seek refuge with some jinns, and this increased their waywardness; 6 Like you, they thought that Allah would never raise the dead. 7 "'And [so it happened] that we reached out towards heaven: but we found it filled with mighty guards and flames, 8 We sat in observatories to listen; but any one who listened found a shooting star in wait for him. 9 and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary: we follow divergent paths. 11 And we have become certain that we will never cause failure to Allah upon earth, nor can we escape Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. 13 "'Yet [it is true] that among us are such as have surrendered themselves to God - just as there are among us such as have abandoned themselves to wrongdoing. Now as for those who surrender themselves to Him - it is they that have attained to consciousness of what is right; 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 Had they (jinn and mankind) remained steadfast in their religion (Islam), We would certainly have given them abundant water to drink 16 That We may test them thereby, and whoso turneth away from the remembrance of his Lord; He will thrust him into ever-growing torment. 17 And the mosques are for Allah (Alone), so invoke not anyone along with Allah. 18 Do not prostrate before anyone other than Him. When the servant of God (Muhammad) preached (his message) the jinn would all crowd around him. 19
