Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 toiling [under burdens of sin,] worn out [by fear,] 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 And chosen goblets. 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
