The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to every fault-finding backbiter; 1 [Woe unto him who amasses wealth and counts it a safeguard, 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the Crushing Fire. 4 And what could make thee conceive what that crushing torment will be? 5 It is the fire kindled by Allah, 6 Which mounteth up to the hearts. 7 Verily it shall close upon them, 8 In extended columns. 9
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
