The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the messengers: 80 We also gave them Our Signs, yet they turned away from them. 81 They would carve secure houses out of the mountains. 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 And We have not created the heaven and the earth and that which is in between them save with a purpose. And verily the Hour is surely coming; so overlook thou with a seemly overlooking, 85 Your Lord is the Creator, the Knower. 86 We have indeed given you the seven oft-repeated (examples), and the majestic Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, 89 Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators 90 and who have broken the Scripture into fragments -- 91 Therefore, by your Lord, We shall question every one of them. 92 About what they used to do. 93 So shout that thou art commanded and turn thou away from the idolaters. 94 Surely We will suffice you against the scoffers 95 Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know. 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 So hallow thou the praise of thy Lord, and be thou of the prostrate. 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
