The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And the breath of morning 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
