Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the dawn, 1 And by ten nights, 2 by the even and the odd, 3 and by the night when it departs. 4 Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perception? 5 Seest thou not how thy Lord dealt with the 'Ad (people),- 6 of the columned (city) of Iram, 7 The like of which were not produced in (all) the land? 8 And (with) Thamud (people), who cut (hewed) out rocks in the valley (to make dwellings)? 9 And with Pharaoh, firm of might, 10 Who committed inordinacy in the cities, 11 spreading in them much corruption? 12 Thy Lord unloosed on them a scourge of chastisement; 13 your Lord keeps an eye on (all evil-doing people). 14 Now, as for man, when his Lord trieth him, giving him honour and gifts, then saith he, (puffed up), "My Lord hath honoured me." 15 However, when his Lord tests him by a measured amount of sustenance, he says, "God has disgraced me". 16 Nay! But you treat not the orphans with kindness and generosity (i.e. you neither treat them well, nor give them their exact right of inheritance)! 17 nor do you urge one another to feed the poor, 18 And ye devour heritages with devouring greed. 19 And love wealth with all your heart. 20 No indeed! When the earth is crushed and ground to dust, 21 And your Lord comes with the angels in rows, 22 and Hell is made to appear on that Day, then man will be mindful, but what will being mindful then avail him? 23 He will say: "Alas! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my life!" 24 But on that Day none will punish as He (Allah) will punish, 25 nor will any bind as He binds. 26 [But unto the righteous God will say,] "O thou human being that hast attained to inner peace! 27 return to your Lord wellpleased, wellpleasing. 28 So enter among My servants, 29 Enter thou My Paradise!' 30
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
