The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the midday brightness 1 And the night when it covers with darkness. 2 Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]. 3 for, indeed, the life to come will be better for thee than this earlier part [of thy life]! 4 Your Lord will soon grant you sufficient favors to please you. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and give thee shelter (and care)? 6 Did He not find you perplexed, and show you the way? 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 Wherefore as to the orphan, be thou not unto him overbearing. 9 nor drive away the one who asks. 10 But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]. 11
