[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk. 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 We saved him and all of his family 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
