Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 therein a running fountain, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
