▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ No! I swear by the positions of the stars – 75 and, indeed, that is a most mighty oath, if you only knew -- 76 That (this) is indeed a noble Qur'an 77 Kept in a secure Book. 78 Which none toucheth save the purified, 79 a revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 80 Do you then hold this announcement in contempt? 81 And you make its denial your share? 82 Why, but when the soul leaps to the throat of the dying 83 Whereas you watch at that moment! 84 And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see - 85 Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed, 86 do you not cause the soul to return to him if you are truthful in your claim? 87 (If a dying soul) is of those near to God, 88 it will have rest, happiness, and a beautiful Paradise. 89 And if he was of the companions of the right, 90 [he, too, will be welcomed into paradise with the words,] "Peace be unto thee [that art] of those who have attained to righteousness!" 91 But, if he is of those who belied, and went astray, 92 its dwelling will be boiling water 93 And the roasting in Hell. 94 This is indeed the ultimate truth. 95 Then magnify the Name of thy Lord, the All-mighty. 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
