Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
