Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 storming tempestuously 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 Till an appointed term, 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 the living and the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 So like golden camels." 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
