The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas rise, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
