Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 And when the graves are turned upside down (and they bring out their contents) 4 (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back. 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 Nay, but ye deny the Judgment. 9 And indeed there are some guardians over you. 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 who know all that you do: 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. 14 In which they will enter, and taste its burning flame on the Day of Recompense, 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
