The Night (Al-Layl)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the night as it envelops; 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 and rejects what is right, 9 We shall facilitate the path to affliction 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest: 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
