They ask you about revelation. Say, revelation is by the command of your Lord, and that you have been given but little knowledge. 85 Had We willed, We could take away what We have revealed to you, then you would find none to help you in recovering it from Us. 86 But on account of mercy from your Lord-- surely His grace to you is abundant. 87 Say, "If all men and jinn gathered together to produce the like of this Quran, they could not produce one like it, however much they helped one another." 88 And assuredly We have variously propounded for mankind in this Qur'an every kind of similitude, yet most men have refused everything except infidelity. 89 And they say: We will not put faith in thee till thou cause a spring to gush forth from the earth for us; 90 Or, until you acquire an orchard of date-palm trees and grapes, and produce rivers flowing through it; 91 or cause the sky to fall on us in pieces as you claimed, or bring Allah and the angels before us, face to face; 92 Or thou have a house of gold; or thou ascend up into heaven, and even then we will put no faith in thine ascension till thou bring down for us a book that we can read. Say (O Muhammad): My Lord be Glorified! Am I aught save a mortal messenger? 93
