In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ O MAN! 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress, 2 it is only a reminder for him who fears Allah; 3 A revelation from He who created the earth and highest heavens, 4 (Allah) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority). 5 His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth and what is between them two and what is beneath the ground. 6 Be thou loud in thy speech, yet surely He knows the secret and that yet more hidden. 7 Allah - there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names. 8 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire, and said to his family, 'Tarry you here; I observe a fire. Perhaps I shall bring you a brand from it, or I shall find at the fire guidance.' 10 When he reached it, he was called: 'O Moses, 11 Verily, I am thy Sustainer! Take off, then, thy sandals! Behold, thou art in the twice hallowed valley, 12 I have chosen you. Therefore, listen to what shall be revealed. 13 I Am the only God. Worship Me and be steadfast in prayer to have My name always in your mind. 14 The Hour is coming. But I choose to keep it hidden, so that every human being may be recompensed in accordance with his labours. 15 Let not the unbelievers who follow their vain desires make you forget the Day of Judgment, lest you will perish." 16 The Lord asked, "Moses, what is in your right hand?" 17 He said, "It is my rod: on it I lean; with it I beat down fodder for my flocks; and in it I find other uses." 18 He said: 'Moses, cast it down' 19 Moses threw it on the ground and suddenly he saw that it was a moving serpent. 20 God said, "Take hold of it, and have no fear: We shall return it to its former state. 21 “And put your hand inside your armpit – it will come out shining white, not due to any illness – one more sign.” 22 That We may go on showing you Our greater signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed." 24
