Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 And you are lost in play! 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
