The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And who glide with ease. 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
