The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the star when it goes down. 1 That your companion is not confused, nor has he gone astray, 2 nor does he speak out of his desire. 3 It is a revelations which has been revealed to him 4 He has been taught by the Extremely Powerful. 5 Lord of power and wisdom. So he acquired poise and balance, 6 And he is in the highest part of the horizon. 7 Then he approached and came closer, 8 until he was but two bow-lengths away, or even nearer. 9 And he revealed to His Servant what he revealed. 10 The [servant's] heart did not give the lie to what he saw: 11 Will you then dispute with him (Muhammad SAW) about what he saw [during the Mi'raj: (Ascent of the Prophet SAW over the seven heavens)]. 12 Indeed, he saw him another time 13 Nigh unto the lote-tree at the boundary. 14 Near it is the Paradise of Abode. 15 when there covered the Lote-Tree that which covered; 16 The sight [of the Prophet] did not swerve, nor did it transgress [its limit]. 17 Indeed he (Muhammad SAW) did see, of the Greatest Signs, of his Lord (Allah). 18 So did you observe the idols Lat and Uzza? 19 And another, the third (goddess), Manat? 20 What! for you the males and for Him the females! 21 That indeed is a division unfair! 22 These are only names which you and your fathers have invented. No authority was sent down by God for them. They only follow conjecture and wish-fulfilment, even though guidance had come to them already from their Lord. 23 Does man imagine that it is his due to have all that he might wish for, 24 But it is to Allah that the End and the Beginning (of all things) belong. 25
