The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
